The man who climbed up to the 21st floor of Trump Tower using suction cups last summer will not be imprisoned for his crime.
Stephen Rogata pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct Monday morning in a New York City courtroom, ABC-7 N.Y. reported. Under the plea deal, he will not face jail time if he complies with a set of five conditions.
Those conditions include undergoing mental health treatment for a year, updating the court on his treatment, either be enrolled in college or work part time for a year, stay away from President Donald Trump and Trump Tower for a year, and avoid all arrests for a year.
If the Great Falls, Va., man complies with the list, he will not face jail time and his reckless endangerment charge will go away. If he violates any of the rules, he will be jailed for up to a year.
Rogata started at the fifth floor of the all-glass Manhattan building and ascended to the 21st floor before police were able to pull him into a window last August. He was reportedly seeking a "private audience" with Trump, who at the time was the Republican presidential candidate.
At an August hearing, prosecutors said the 19-year-old Rogata planned his stunt by practicing ahead of time.
