President Donald Trump's $2,800-per-ticket fundraiser at his golf club in Bedminster, N.J., earlier this month did not result in any COVID-19 outbreaks, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy told reporters Tuesday.
"We've done everything we can do," Murphy said. "Somerset County … has done everything they can do, as has Bedminster. We're not aware of any outbreaks."
Trump held the event at the club just hours before he announced he tested positive for the novel coronavirus. More than 200 people and 19 Bedminster staff members attended.
Murphy blasted Trump following his announcement confirming a positive test.
"We don't need folks coming in, knowingly exposed to a COVID-positive individual, and then be in the midst of a couple of hundred people in New Jersey," Murphy said last week. "That's the last thing we need."
State officials were concerned Trump's presence in New Jersey could lead to an outbreak.
More than 34 White House staffers and other contacts tested positive for COVID-19 after Trump announced he and first lady Melania Trump were infected. Many took part in the Sept. 26 White House event where Trump introduced Judge Amy Coney Barrett as his Supreme Court nominee.
