Vice President Mike Pence and his wife sent prayers to President Donald Trump and first lady Melania for a quick recovery from COVID-19.
Pence’s comments came in an early Friday morning tweet. He wrote: “Karen and I send our love and prayers to our dear friends President @realDonaldTrump and @FLOTUS Melania Trump. We join millions across America praying for their full and swift recovery. God bless you President Trump & our wonderful First Lady Melania.”
The tweet made no mention about the last time Pence underwent a test for COVID-19.
Business Insider noted Pence is next in line to fill in for Trump if the president becomes incapacitated.
Pence’s comments came after the president said early Friday that he and Melania have tested positive for the coronavirus.
The president’s physician said in a memo that Trump and the first lady “are both well at this time” and “plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence.”
