House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Friday referred to President Donald Trump as “dangerous.”
“It was so sad to hear him say, as he signed the bill, ‘Just think back 20 days, 20 days ago everything was great, everything was great, and now 20 days later we have this challenge,’” Pelosi said during an appearance on MSNBC's “Rachel Maddow Show.”
“No, 20 days ago we had nearly 500 cases, 17 deaths, we had a threat that he chose to ignore and now we have about 100,000 cases and over 1,500 deaths and he’s still in that state where he’s not doing enough for the personal protective equipment that our brave health care workers, first responders and the rest that risk to save other peoples’ lives urgently need.”
Trump earlier Friday declined to invite Pelosi and other Democrats to the White House ceremony where he signed the historic $2 trillion coronavirus rescue package earlier in the day by the House.
Trump and Pelosi have not spoken to each other since Oct. 16.
"I want to thank Democrats and Republicans for coming together and putting America first,” Trump told reporters.
No Democrats were present at the signing ceremony.
