Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch wore a T-shirt that had “EVERYBODY VS TRUMP” written on it as he arrived for his team’s game in Denver on Sunday, The Hill reported.
The protest came amid continuing demonstrations following President Donald Trump’s call last week for the NFL to fire those who kneel during the national anthem, which players say is a protest against racial injustice and police brutality
Yahoo Sports reported that Lynch was one of the first players this season not to stand during the national anthem, before Trump started his campaign lashing out at the players and the NFL.
Before Sunday’s game , Lynch stayed seated during the playing of the national anthem, TotalProSports.com reported.
Several staffers from the Raiders stood around him in an apparent attempt to hide Lynch from the cameras, but an overhead angle clearly showed the running back sitting.
