Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright says very "troubled" by President Donald Trump's "unpredictability" amid the coronavirus pandemic.
"I'm very, very troubled by his unpredictability and his swinging back and forth on what he says," Albright told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Wednesday.
"In fact, it's important to deliver a message if you're president of the United States, one that makes some sense, and he's not doing that, and I'm very troubled by that."
Albright, who served as the first female secretary of state in U.S. history, also said she is "stunned" by Trump's "lack of complete understanding of what the Constitution says, which he swore to uphold," in reference to comments made by the president Monday that it was his decision alone whether to reopen individual states.
"He's got it backwards," Albright said. "He's got so many things backwards."
Trump on Tuesday said he was fine with governors making their own decisions about how and when to reopen states, a quick about face from the day before.
COVID-19 has infected more than 2 million people and killed at least 129,045 worldwide, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
