The firing of a liberal pundit from MSNBC fired up at least one network host and a host of Twitter fans running the hashtag #keepJoanWalsh, which ultimately led to an announcement Joan Walsh would become a contributor for CNN in the new year, BizPac Review reported.
Current MSNBC host Joy Reid ripped her company for the decision to not renew the feminist author of "What's the Matter With White People?"
Around five months ago, Walsh controversially ripped President Donald Trump's daughter and White House senior adviser Ivanka Trump as being too stylish to represent real women, according to the report. She also ridiculed U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement as a "violent gang," a phrase President Trump has used to reference the MS-13 street gang.
MSNBC decided to not renew her contract as a contributor Friday, but CNN quickly scooped her up after a brief #keepJoanWalsh Twitter campaign among her followers Saturday.
