Harvey Weinstein will not be charged in an incident in which a 22-year-old woman claimed he groped her during a meeting in Tribeca on March 27, a source told Variety.
Police questioned Weinstein the day after the alleged incident. The woman accused the Weinstein Co. boss of touching her breasts and hips, police confirmed. The Daily News, which broke the story, reported that the incident took place at around 6 p.m. Friday at the Tribeca Film Center. The Daily News later reported that police arranged for the woman to later call Weinstein and confront him about the incident.
Weinstein is a towering figure in the film world. As the founder of Miramax and later the Weinstein Co., he has overseen such influential and award-winning films as "Pulp Fiction," "The King's Speech" and "The Artist." He is married to fashion designer Georgina Chapman.
