MASON, Texas — Texas officials may revoke the license of a handgun instructor who said in a local radio ad that Muslims weren't welcome in his class.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the ad paid for by Crockett Keller, whose radio spot has gone viral on the Internet. The 65-year-old says he won't teach Muslims or non-Christian Arabs how to handle a firearm for a concealed handgun license.
Muslim groups have dismissed Keller as a bigot. A handful of embarrassed locals in Mason are worried that Keller's ad could harm the reputation of their small Central Texas town.
Keller also encourages supporters of President Barack Obama not to take his class.
Keller says he was motivated to make the ad after two neighbors volunteered to campaign for Obama.
