Amb. Gordon Sondland was trying to "protect himself" and ostensibly threw President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, National Security Adviser John Bolton, lawyer Rudy Giuliani, and White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney under the bus, according to Fox News anchor Chris Wallace.

"To a certain degree, he took out the bus and ran over President Trump, Vice President [Mike] Pence, Mike Pompeo, John Bolton, Rudy Giuliani, Mick Mulvaney," Wallace said Wednesday following Sondland's testimony before the House Intelligence Committee.

"He implicates all of them," Wallace added.

Sondland, Trump's ambassador to the European Union, testified he discussed Trump's efforts to pressure Ukraine into investigating his political rivals with Pence.

"I mentioned to Vice President Pence before the meetings with the Ukrainians that I had concerns that the delay in [U.S. military aid to Ukraine] had become tied to the issue of investigations," Sondland said. "I recall mentioning that before the Zelenskiy meeting."

Sondland also raised questions about other officials and said "everyone was in the loop" about Trump's requests of Ukraine.

"Was there a 'quid pro quo?'" Sondland said. "The answer is yes."

Sondland also said Trump and other senior officials pressured Ukraine on the investigations "because the president directed us to do so."
