Get ready for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 — the movie.
The Hollywood Reporter quotes J.C. Spink, executive producer of the 2005 jet-peril thriller "Red Eye," as saying there's no doubt a drama based on Flight 370's mysterious disappearance is in the works.
"It's a shocking tragedy, but even so, I guarantee there are 50 different people working on 50 different projects that are either inspired by it or based directly on it right now," Spink said.
"Clearly something more happened on that flight than we'll ever know. And that's a great jumping-off point."
While it was finally determined this week that the Beijing-bound flight plunged into the south Indian Ocean, killing all 239 passengers and crew members aboard, the mystery of why is still unknown.
One incentive Hollywood producers may have for producing a film on the tragedy is the potential box-office. CNN's ratings skyrocketed during its wall-to-wall coverage.
