The gunman who killed 22 people and injured dozens more at the Walmart in El Paso, Texas only stopped at the super-store after he got lost and hungry, according to police officials.
Patrick Crusius, 21, drove 10 hours to get to El Paso from his affluent Dallas suburb home last Saturday. There, he showed no remorse as he unleashed a spray of bullets at the popular shopping destination for people on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border.
"As soon he got here, he was lost in the neighborhood," El Paso Police Chief Greg Allen said Monday. "After that, he found his way to the Walmart because we understand he was hungry, and that's about as far as I can go without getting into too much detail."
Crusius was charged with capital murder Sunday. The El Paso district attorney has already said his office will seek the death penalty against Crusius.
