Condoleezza Rice, a former secretary of state, defended rap star Kanye West over his praise for President Donald Trump.
"People should be able to express their views. Not all of us have to think politically the same way…I think we need to recognize that in some ways, the height of prejudice is to look at somebody and think you know what they think because of the color of their skin," Rice, who was secretary of state during George W. Bush’s administration, said on Fox Business’ "Mornings With Maria."
"I hope we get to the point that people get to express their views and you can agree with them or disagree," Rice said in the interview.
West stirred controversy late in April by offering support for Trump in a number of tweets.
On Tuesday, West said "class war" is one of the reasons Trump won the presidential election.
