Billionaire Steven A. Cohen and his wife Alexandra gave $2 million to the Whitney Museum of American Art for its education programs.

The gift, made through the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Foundation, will allow the New York museum to offer more free guided visits to students and expand its public school and community partnerships, the museum said in a statement Thursday.

“Steven and I were inspired to give more after we saw the amazing impact that art has on children first-hand at the Whitney’s Jeff Koons exhibition last summer,” Alexandra Cohen, president of the foundation, said in the statement.

Steven Cohen is an avid art collector who is worth $11 billion, ranking him 104th on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. He manages his wealth through his investment firm Point72 Asset Management in Stamford, Connecticut.

Cohen was named one of the top 200 art collectors by ARTnews magazine earlier this month. He made the list for the 14th consecutive year. The foundation has also supported the Brooklyn Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Museum of Modern Art, according to its website.
