President Donald Trump sent out a Christmas greeting to his more than 56 million Twitter followers Tuesday.
"Merry Christmas!" the president tweeted.
Earlier the president had retweeted first lady Melania Trump, who had noted how much she enjoyed taking calls from children asking where Santa was on Christmas Eve.
The president's wife wrote: "Helping children across the country track #Santa is becoming one of my favorite traditions! @Potus and I enjoyed working with @NORADSanta – #ChristmasEve."
The president had come under fire from critics who disapproved of the way he addressed a 7-year-old during one of the calls.
Trump asked the child: "Are you still a believer in Santa? Because at 7 it's marginal, right?"
The calls taken by Trump and the first lady were made available by the North American Aerospace Defense Command, which tracked Santa's flight across the globe.
