President Barack Obama blew his chances to affect positive change in America by being too narrowly focused from the get-go, according to Carl Domino, the Republican nominee for the 18th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives, who appeared Wednesday on
Newsmax TV's "America’s Forum."
"In the first two years of his administration he could've done anything he wanted to … and he chose to do very few things," Domino said. "He chose to do the stimulus program, which was a complete failure, and he chose to do Obamacare, which is turning out to be a complete failure."

In Domino’s home state of Florida, he predicted Obamacare is going to be a key issue in the November midterms, where Domino will face off against Democrat Patrick Murphy.
"Blue Cross Blue Shield said in Florida … the premium is going to be up 17.6 percent," according to Domino. "As you're aware every month, about 2 ½ percent of the people that signed up for Obamacare are getting out of it because they're finding out, well the premium's nice or not so nice, but now I've got a $6,000 deductible and of the 8 million that signed up for it, 30 percent of that already had it. So Obamacare is going to become a big issue."
Domino said he supports the
Fix Congress First Act, which includes term limits for politicians, among a host of other changes.
"I believe the benefits such as health care and social security should be the same for the congressman as it is for everyone else," he said. "I believe every bill should lay on the desk, that's what we call it in Tallahassee, for 72 hours. No more (House Minority Leader Nancy) Pelosi's you'll know what's in it once you vote for it.
"I believe that some of the extravagant travel benefits and stuff by lobbyists should be eliminated and the one thing that's very new, and I know that it's controversial is, I believe we should take the median salary of every district and that's the congressman's salary. Every congressman should walk in the shoes of their constituents and this district is $43,000 a year. That should be your salary."
