CNN Anchor Tweets Insult About Fox News Climate Story

By    |   Thursday, 31 July 2014 07:26 PM EDT

CNN anchor Bill Weir went on a mini-Twitter tirade Thursday, crudely slamming a Fox News blog for its post on former Vice President Al Gore's Climate Reality Project.

"The Climate Reality Project brought its 'I’m Too Hot' trucks and offers of free ice cream to this week's Environmental Protection Agency hearings on power plant emissions, but the climate wasn’t cooperating," the post on the Fox Nation blog stated.

The post wasn't even a Fox News report but a summary of a Washington Times story.

The Times reported the Gore group had shown up in Denver to hand out ice cream, though it was a chilly 58 degrees.

Nevertheless, Weir retweeted the Fox link, with his own rude comment: "Weather is not climate, you willfully ignorant f--ksticks." His tweet didn't have any dashes.

Weir later tweeted an apology.

The former ABC "Nightline" correspondent clashed with Fox News earlier this year, incurring the wrath of Fox News Channel chief Roger Ailes.

When Weir mocked Fox News coverage of rancher Cliven Bundy’s standoff with government agents, Ailes shot back in an interview with Breitbart news, calling Weir "Bill Weird."

The Fox News head charged Weir "is attacking me to get noticed," declaring "It's a cheesy start for a mediocre talent."

A spokeswoman for Fox News told Mediaite it was aware of Weir's latest tweet.
