A musical satire in which there will literally be two "Bill Clintons" is set to debut in New York next month.
Called "Clinton The Musical" and created by Australian brothers Paul and Michael Hodge, the show will run Off -Broadway at the Pershing Square Signature Center July 18-25, according to
USA Today.
The play, which was a hit at the 2012 Edinburgh Festival Fringe and was nominated for best new musical, will also include Hillary Rodham Clinton, Newt Gingrich, Monica Lewinsky, and Eleanor Roosevelt as characters, USA Today said, citing The Associated Press.
The musical is part of the
New York Theatre Musical Festival, which says of the show: "It’s history. Sort of."
The festival also says, "It’s hard enough being president by yourself. Bill Clinton’s problem is that there are two of him. Literally. 'Clinton' follows two Bill Clintons and Hillary on their quest to save their presidency, change America, and prove that 'politics is show business for ugly people.'"
