If only Arnold Schwarzenegger had been born in America.

The two-time Republican governor of California and actor of massive fame said in an interview he would have run for president this year, putting on display his somewhat conservative vision for the country.

"If I'd been born in America, I would've run," Schwarzenegger told Adweek. "Because now? This was a very good time to get in the race."

Instead, the Austrian-born former Mr. Universe has had to watch one of the more bizarre presidential races in modern history from the sidelines, though he hasn't kept silent.

Schwarzenegger is not a fan of Donald Trump, and took to Twitter a few weeks ago to make it public:

Schwarzenegger tweeted that after the damning 11-year-old audiotape emerged of Trump making lewd comments about women. Schwarzenegger hasn't commented publicly about the election since, Adweek reported.

Since then, a dozen women have made ranging accusations of sexual harassment against Trump, perhaps a reminder of Schwarzenegger's own bad behavior.

On the eve of his first election as governor, several women came forward to accuse Schwarzenegger of groping. He apologized and went on to win California with nearly 50 percent of the vote.

Schwarzenegger would later be exposed for an affair he had with his housekeeper, with whom he had an illegitimate son.
