Xiaomi's iPhone X competitor, the Mi Mix 2S, was unveiled by the Chinese company to solid reviews.
The new android phone is an upgrade from its predecessors, Mi Mix and the Mi Mix 2, which was launched six months ago by the sixth-largest phone maker, according to Mashable.
The Mix 2S retains many of the features that won the Mi Mix 2 so many accolades, but also includes some new additions such as dual cameras featuring dual pixel technology, a new processor and wireless charging. The phone will be available at an estimated price of $527, which is about half the price of Apple's flagship phone.
Speaking at the unveiling, Xiaomi co-founder Lei Jun said the phone-maker was comparing the Mi Mix 2S to the iPhone X because "people say it is the best phone. We just want to show we surpassed the best in many features," according to The Verge.
The Mi Mix 2S will be available in a 6 gigabytes of RAM and 64 GB onboard storage model, a 6 GB RAM and 128 GB onboard storage model and an 8 GB and 256 GB of onboard storage, CNET reported.
The phone also comprises AI-integrated features including built-in AI voice assist that allows users to control the smart phone as well as smart home appliances, according to a news release on Business Wire.
