A Kansas City woman finished her college psychology final from her hospital bed while in labor.
Nayzia Thomas is a sophomore at Johnson County Community College and went into labor a little earlier than expected, Yahoo Lifestyle reported. She had wanted to finish all her coursework before the baby was born, so she decided to finish it during the early part of labor “before all this gets crazy,” she told Yahoo.
She finished the exam on dissociative identity disorder and gave birth about 12 hours later. After some complications, she and baby are both doing well, Yahoo reported.
Thomas' mom took a picture of her working from the hospital bed and posted it on Twitter because she felt it captured who her daughter is, Yahoo reported.
Thursday afternoon, the tweet had more than 133,000 likes and was retweeted more than 28,000 times.
Thomas says she was working three jobs and going to school when she found out about the pregnancy. Her boyfriend and mother will help her care for her son once school starts again next month, Yahoo reported.
Thomas said in a followup tweet that she earned a 3.5 GPA for the semester.
Thomas got lots of support for her dedication.
