A wisdom teeth extraction turned into a zombie apocalypse for Millicent Phillips when her brothers played the ultimate practical joke on her while she was still loopy from the anesthetic used in the dental procedure.
A video of the prank was posted Monday on YouTube and went viral with more than 946,000 views.
"Last week after our little sister's wisdom teeth surgery, we convinced her that a zombie outbreak had hit our city," brother Cabot Phillips wrote on the YouTube caption, according to his
Twitter account. "Her reaction was priceless."
The elaborate prank even included a fake emergency broadcast from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, according to the
Daily Mail.
"State and local official have reported cases of high fever, nausea, death, and even cannibalism," said the fake CDC statement which ordered people to stay in place.
The prank had woozy Millicent searching for answers, said
USA Today.
"A garden hoe isn't what we want," Millicent says at one point. "We have guns, why are you putting garden equipment in the car?"
Cabot Phillips told USA Today his sister's reaction was more than they could have hoped for.
"The typical wisdom teeth videos are funny but we wanted to do something a little different, and thought the zombie aspect might be a fun twist," Cabot Phillips said. "We just didn't anticipate how expressive she would be, and how many one-liners she'd produce – even when terrified and in a drug-induced state."
The prank won over many on social media.
