William Shatner, 86, was not injured Wednesday when a buggy he was riding in a horse show flipped over.
The “Star Trek” legend was competing in a horse-and-buggy show in Kentucky with a horse from his farm he owns with wife Elizabeth when the horse was spooked and flipped over, spilling them onto the ground, The Huffington Post reported.
The public address announcer called for calm as personnel hurried to Shatner, but he was not hurt and did not need medical attention. The horse was also not injured. He continued competing and eventually won first prize at the event, TMZ reported.
Shatner recently published a book, “Spirit of the Horse,” about his experiences as an equestrian, Inside Edition reported. Shatner won the Kentucky State Fair World’s Championship Horse Show in 2013.
“After 30 years of riding my back is kind of gnarly, and my legs don’t work as well,” he said, Inside Edition reported. “And I got all kinds of little growths. There is a very good possibility whether it is near or far and they will say you can’t ride anymore.”
People on Twitter were generally glad he was okay.
