The White House was placed on lockdown amid “suspicious package” reports put out by the U.S. Secret Service on Tuesday morning after a suspect attempted to jump the south fence line of the building.

The Sun reported that while the suspect was later apprehended and taken into custody, the White House was placed under lockdown until early afternoon as the U.S. Secret Service investigated a “suspicious package” found near the barrier.

The lock down comes not long after a similar incident in which an unattended package was discovered lying near the north fence in August.

In a separate incident that occurred in September, two people were taken into custody and one was arrested after throwing “unknown objects” over the north fence line, Newsweek reported.

It later emerged that the “unknown objects” were a notebook and sign, although officials did not reveal whether anything was written on the sign.

There has been an increase in lockdowns during recent months, as authorities deal with more and more fence jumpers and abandoned packages, The Hill noted.
