Wasserman Schultz: Romney Has Distorted Obama's Record

By    |   Wednesday, 22 August 2012 10:05 AM EDT

Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney has engaged in distorting the record of the Obama campaign, Debbie Wasserman Schultz claims.

The tart-tongued U.S. Representative for Florida’s 20th congressional district and Chair of the Democratic National Committee, called in to Miami’s News Radio 610 to weigh in on recent political campaigning and its effects on American voters.

"Were quite polarized, we’re standing at a crossroads in America,”Wasserman Schultz said.

She attributes this polarization to the “two very different directions proposed by the candidates.”

While Wasserman Schultz stated that the “political process in general has become very vitriolic,” she claims that the Romney campaign has directly engaged in more distortion of facts than President Barack Obama.

She backtracked when talking about Super PACs supporting Democratic candidates, stating that they “hurt our democracy on both sides.” Wasserman Schultz made no mention of the pro-Obama Super PAC ad that tied Romney to a woman’s death by cancer.
