A Washington state father, Vincent Price Jones, has been charged with using an electric cattle prod on a man who was dating his 25-year-old daughter.
According to the Bellingham Herald, Norman Gerstner, 38, awoke around 10:30 a.m. on March 24 to find Jones, 52, standing over him with a pressure-activated cattle prod.
Bellingham Police Lt. Bob Vander Yachts said Jones — 6-foot-4, 230 pounds — proceeded to push the cattle prod into Gerstner's chest, shocking him, causing extreme pain, and leaving red marks.
Jones fled the scene, but first allegedly picked up a 6-inch folding knife, waved it in the air, and told everyone in the room he would hurt them if they called the police.
Gerstner reported Jones roughly an hour later, but police could not find him.
On May 5, Gerstner saw Jones at a Bellingham restaurant, and called the police again.
Jones was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault, first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, and felony harassment.
Jones is being held for a $50,000 bail.
