Victoria Siegel, Daughter of 'Queen of Versailles' Couple, Found Dead

By    |   Monday, 08 June 2015 11:47 AM EDT

Victoria Siegel, daughter of “Queen of Versailles” stars David and Jackie Siegel, was found dead Saturday in her family's Windermere, Florida, home, according to Orange County sheriff’s spokesman Jeff Williamson.

The 18-year-old was found unresponsive around 2 p.m. at the “Seagull Island” mansion owned by her parents, who starred in a popular 2012 documentary, Williamson told the Orlando Sentinel.

Siegel was taken to the Health Central Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The medical examiner is still determining the cause and manner of death, Williamson said, although an autopsy has been completed.

According to the Daily Mail, however, the second eldest of the couple’s eight children reportedly died from a drug overdose.

David Siegel refused to comment until an official statement is released.

“The victim's father has informed investigators that he will be making a statement in the coming days regarding the death of his daughter and is requesting privacy at this time,” Williamson said.

“It is with great sadness that we ask you to respect our privacy during this tragic time and the loss of our beloved daughter, Victoria,” Jackie Siegel posted on Facebook. “Thank you all for your prayers and for your support. As more information comes out the family will share it, until that time there is no comment.”

David Siegel founded Westgate Resorts, a time-share company, with more than 28 locations across the country, according to the newspaper. He also owns the Westgate Las Vegas Resorts and Casino, the Cocoa Beach Pier, and the Orlando Predators Arena League Football team.

Jackie Siegel was named Mrs. Florida America in 1992 and is a member of the Westgate board.

Most famously, the billionaire couple starred in Lauren Greenfield’s 2012 documentary called the “Queen of Versailles,” which follows their life as they build a second 90,000-square-foot home called the Versailles House. The mansion is scheduled to be completed in May 2016 in time for David’s 80th birthday.

The couple and their eight children most recently appeared on ABC’s “Celebrity Wife Swap” June 3 where the parents admitted to not spending much time with their kids, and instead having their large staff of 30 do most of the work, according to the Daily Mail.
