Daniel Biss, a 95-year-old veteran, braved a diving board and jumped into a pool among family and friends in a Facebook video that has gone viral, with the heartwarming imagine being shared more than 189,000 on the social media platform.
The video, which was posted by the Facebook page MilitaryKind Stories on Wednesday, showed Biss, a World War II and Korean War veteran walk to the pool with the aide of his wife while his daughter Christine Ross captured the event on video.
Biss steadied himself in front of family in friends while on the board before diving head first into the water, determined to show a neighborhood child how to dive in with a brave face, USA Today reported.
"He is very spry for his age – he's 95 soon to be 96-years-old and is both a WWII and Korean War veteran in the U.S. Air Force," Ross said, per USA Today. "He is full of amazing stories and has song for every situation."
Biss has been married for 72 years to his wife who served in the U.S. Coast Guard as an administrative aid, according to the newspaper.
"Little did we know he would actually dive," Kevin Ross, Biss's grandson said, USA Today wrote. "He said soon after this video that he wants to be seen around the world."
Biss's effort generated more than 5,000 comments on Facebook.
The reports did not mention where Biss is from or when or where the video was shot. His story, though, spread on social media.
