Tyler Stallings has been helping veterans in need since he was 4 years old and now, two years down the line, the Baltimore kidpreneur and philanthropist has earned a spot on NBC's "Little Big Shots."

The show focuses on notable children, whether they are talented or doing good in the world, and Stalling's story attracted the attention of producers after they heard about his pay-it-forward campaign, WBAL-TV noted.

It all began two years ago when Stallings' mother, Andrea Blackstone, explained the plight of homeless veterans to her son.

He immediately set about raising funds to assemble care packages for homeless veterans, a campaign that became known as "Give Back to Veterans Day," according to information on the website of KidTime Enterprises, the 6-year-old's entrepreneurial endeavor.

The initiative was such a success that Stallings decided to make it a regular occurrence and has since drawn widespread attention for his acts of kindness.

"I learned that kids can give back too," he said, according to The Baltimore Times. "This project helps me understand how important it is to help people like the homeless and elderly veterans."

It was not always easy, but Stallings persisted.

"Lots of people ignored Tyler when he first tried to talk to them about helping veterans," Blackstone said, per The Baltimore Times. "Some people promised to help and never showed up after meetings were scheduled. I taught Tyler how to deal with that and more."

It has been an adventurous journey for Stalling, who was excited about being interviewed by Steve Harvey on "Little Big Shots," which will air on Sunday at 8 p.m. Eastern time on NBC.

Now he hopes that the interview will help to inspire other children to embark upon their own initiatives to do good in the world.
