President Donald Trump's speech to Congress on Tuesday hit a record for the most tweeted State of the Union or joint session speech in history, with 3 million posts.
Twitter spokesman Nick Pacilio wrote that tweets during Trump's speech surpassed the previous record of 2.6 million tweets during President Barack Obama's 2015 State of the Union speech, according to USA Today.
"Tuesday's record appears to reflect the wide usage Trump has made of the social network," Steven Musil, night editor for the tech website CNET.com, wrote. "The billionaire makes headlines almost every day with a tweetstorm of some sort."
USA Today said the speech's most tweeted moment was the president's push "to repeal and replace Obamacare" followed by "We are blessed to be joined by Carryn Owens." Owens is the widow of Navy SEAL William "Ryan" Owens who died in Yemen during an operation this year.
The third most tweeted moment was "We all bleed the same blood. We all salute the same flag. And we are all made by the same God," USA Today reported. The words were also part of the most re-tweeted post of the night, USA Today noted.
Google Trends posted the top five questions that trended on its search engine during Trump's speech, including inquiries about who wrote it.
