President Donald Trump has responded to a music video in which rapper Snoop Dogg is seen firing a cartoon-like "bang" at a satirical Trump stand-in, suggesting an "outcry" if former president Barack Obama had been mocked in the same fashion.

The video, for the Canadian musical group BADBADNOTGOOD for its remixed song "Lavender" shows a character named Ronald Klump being subjected to what was called by National Public Radio as a "Looney Tunes-ian bang" fired by the rap artist.

Trump commented on the video Wednesday morning on Twitter.

President Trump's attorney Michael Cohen weighed in to "TMZ Live" on Tuesday, charging that Snoop Dogg should retract the suggestion the video makes.

"It's totally disgraceful," Cohen said to TMZ of the video. "Snoop owes the president an apology. There is absolutely nothing funny about an assassination attempt on the president. … I'm not sure that I understand the artistic value of having someone dress up like Trump and firing a weapon at him. I certainly would not have accepted it if it was President Obama. I certainly don't accept it if it's President Trump."

Reaction on social media about Trump's new spat with the rapper covered the gamut.
