President Donald Trump’s 6-year-old granddaughter Arabella Kushner is a sensation in China after singing and reciting a poem in Mandarin for the Chinese president during Trump’s visit there.
Trump showed Chinese President Xi Jinping a video of his granddaughter in a Chinese-style dress singing a song in Mandarin and reciting a poem, which she dedicated to the foreign leader and his wife, The Washington Post reported.
Xi praised her performance, grading it as an “A plus,” the Post reported, and millions also viewed the video on the Chinese internet. Arabella has reportedly been learning the language from her Chinese nanny practically since birth.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry said Arabella was “deeply loved by the Chinese people,” the Post reported.
Xi said he hoped Trump's granddaughter would visit China soon and that she is considered a “child star” there, the Washington Times reported.
The little girl also went viral in China in a video last year when she dressed up for the Chinese New Year and performed songs and poems for her family.
The U.S. president and first lady Melania Trump had tea in the Forbidden City during their visit, marking the first time any American president has dined there.
Twitter users also praised the little girl — and her grandfather for finding a way to connect with China during his visit.
