A Trader Joe's serial robber is still at large, and Los Angeles cops are now seeking the public's help with nabbing the man linked to eight stickups.
Detectives have connected the armed robberies that have plagued branches of the popular trading chain since February in Long Beach, Irvine, Culver City and Los Angeles and now they have released a sketch of the suspect along with a $15,000 reward for information that may lead to his arrest, The Los Angeles Times reported.
In a post to Facebook, the Los Angeles Police Department described the suspect as a black male of medium height and weight, aged between 25 and 35.
A composite sketch of the suspect was obtained by detectives following a Wilshire robbery that took place on April 16, just days after a Trader Joe's in Culver City was struck, The Los Angeles Times noted.
The first robbery took place on Feb. 15, when the Trader Joe's Long Beach store was held up, The Mercury News reported.
The armed suspect allegedly walked into the store and demanded cash from an employee but did not engage with any customers.
He then fled the scene without injuring anyone.
The same store was hit again on March 2 in a similar fashion.
Since then several other hold-ups have taken place, all following the same pattern, the last of which occurred April 22.
Councilman Paul Koretz said that the incidents were a "direct threat to the people of Los Angeles and the families who shop in these establishment and the quicker we bring them to justice the sooner Angelinos can rest,'' according to NBC News.
Authorities have requested that anyone with information pertaining to the suspect call a police department or submit tips to a hotline at (800) 222-8477.
