The Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday released its summary report on the CIA's interrogation techniques following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and the #TortureReport hashtag immediately took off on Twitter.

While many Americans decried the interrogation techniques used against suspected or known terrorists — things such as sleep deprivation, waterboarding, and loud music — others sided with the CIA, saying that the techniques ultimately saved American lives.
