Tonya Couch was ordered to remain in jail Monday in Tarrant County, where she was booked earlier this year after she failed to adhere to the conditions of her bond by testing positive for drugs, The Dallas Morning News noted.

The 51-year-old mother of "affluenza teen" Ethan Couch was charged with money laundering and hindering apprehension when she allegedly ran to Mexico with her son in late 2015 when his probation faced revocation.

In 2016 she was released on bond but was booked back into jail in June, after a urine sample tested positive for methamphetamine.

At Monday's hearing, Judge Wayne Salvant said he just wanted Tonya Couch to follow the rules and regulations but it appeared as if she was not willing to comply.

"That's my biggest concern with her," Salvant said, according to WFAA. "I'm sick and tired of going back and forth with Ms. Couch that she doesn't want to follow the rules and regulations. I've told her the eyes of Texas are upon her."

This is the second time that her bond was revoked for failing drug tests.

Her attorneys initially questioned the reliability of urine test result, which was processed by the drug testing lab, AdverHealth in St. Louis, Missouri.

According to The Dallas Morning News, Tonya Couch's lawyers ordered their own test which came back negative, and argued that the Missouri drug testing lab was not properly accredited.

However, a letter from the Texas Forensic Sciences Commission was received stating that the lab was in compliance from April 13, 2018, through April 2020.

Prior to this, prosecutors unsuccessfully attempted to revoke Tonya Couch's bond last year when they argued that she had been drinking beer at a sports bar.

Ethan Couch and his mother were both detained after they fled to Puerto Vallarta in December 2015.

Their failed getaway came two years after Ethan Couch admitted to a drunk-driving crash that killed four people.

A psychologist testified that the teenager suffered from "affluenza" because of his privileged upbringing and didn't understand right from wrong.

Couch was 16 at the time of the crash and had a blood-alcohol level almost three times the legal limit.

State District Judge Jean Boyd, who is now retired, sentenced Couch to 10 years of probation on four counts of intoxication manslaughter in the crash.

After he violated his probation, Ethan Couch was sentenced to two years in prison and was released in April this year, ABC News noted.
