Tom Hanks sent a coffee maker — a $1,700 espresso machine to be exact — to the reporters at the White House Press Corps with an encouraging note about their work.
It's actually the third time Hanks has sent a coffee maker to the White House Press Corps, according to The Hollywood Reporter. His first gift was in 2004 during George W. Bush’s presidency, along with a note that said, “I hope this machine will make the 24 hour cycle of news a bit more pleasant.”
Hanks sent an upgraded machine in 2010 after noticing the first one was showing wear during a White House visit.
The current gift came with a note that reads, “Keep up the good fight for Truth, Justice, and the American Way. Especially for the Truth part.”
Some of the press corps reporters took to Twitter to express their gratitude for the coffee maker, along with many others who offered to let Hanks gift them with a similar machine.
