A man has been arrested for breaking into NFL superstar Tom Brady and wife Gisele Bundchen's Massachusetts mansion. Zanini Cineus, 34, was nabbed by Brookline police on Monday morning after they discovered him sleeping on a couch in the basement of the 2,112-square-foot, five-bedroom home, ESPN reported.
A security company had alerted authorities after several alarms went off in the house, which has been empty since Brady signed on with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and moved his family to Florida. Police arrested Cineus, who is said to be homeless, and booked him on charges of breaking and entering, attempted larceny, and trespassing. He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on Monday afternoon.
This is not the first time Cineus has been in trouble with the law. He has been accused of stealing a Tom Brady jersey worth an estimated $10,000 from the Patriots' Hall of Fame at Gillette Stadium last October. There are several active arrest warrants against him, including a failure-to-appear warrant stemming from that incident. At the time, his residence was listed in Providence, Rhode Island.
Cineus is being held in custody pending a competency evaluation.
Brady's mansion, which features a guest house, pool, and driveway big enough to accommodate 20 cars, is located on the ninth hole of the Chestnut Hill Country Club. In August last year it was put on the market for $39.5 million but the price was dropped to $33.5 million just two months later. The current asking price is unclear as the home is now an off-market listing.
