A TMZ video shows the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport shooting suspect opening fire as he walks through the baggage claim area.
The video shows the gunman casually pulling a handgun from his waistband and begin firing before running out of the camera shot, according to CNN.
Security footage obtained by TMZ shows a baggage claim area appearing normal before the suspect, identified as Esteban Santiago, opened fire.
The footage captured Santiago as he appeared to fire off three shots, causing people to run and duck for cover.
“We are aware of the video on TMZ,” said airport spokesman Greg Meyer, per CNN. “There is currently an investigation involving law enforcement looking into the matter.”
According to federal prosecutors, Santiago admitted to planning the assault that left five people dead and several others injured.
Santiago, 26, was charged on Saturday “with an act of violence at an international airport resulting in death,” said the Toronto Sun.
He’s also facing weapons charges.
Authorities said Saturday during a news conference that they had interviewed about 175 people, including a lengthy interrogation of the suspect, but have yet to determine what the motive was, and they’re not ruling out terrorism.
“Indications are that he came here to carry out this horrific attack,” FBI Agent George Piro said, per the Sun. “We have not identified any triggers that would have caused this attack. We’re pursuing all angles on what prompted him to carry out this horrific attack.”
According to CNN, two victims were still in intensive care on Sunday, and the other survivors who had suffered injuries were either released or said to be recovering at Broward General Hospital.
