A toddler from a TLC show is dead after a house fire in his Utah home Saturday, according to police.
Adonija Foster, who was 2 years old, died of smoke inhalation from the fire, which started in the room where he was napping in his family’s Rockland Ranch home, The Deseret News reported.
Family members attempted to revive him before emergency personnel arrived, but the sheriff’s office said he was pronounced dead at the scene, the News reported. Two others in the household were treated for smoke inhalation and released.
Foster’s birth was shown on the TLC show “Three Wives, One Husband,” which aired last month on the channel and detailed the lives of polygamist families in the fundamentalist Mormon community. He was the seventh of his mother Lillian’s eight children and the 17th child of Enoch Foster.
A GoFundMe page set up to help with funeral and medical expenses had raised almost $45,000 as of Friday.
“The family is devastated,” the page read. “His mother and sister were taken to the hospital after inhaling smoke while attempting to save him. Expenses will be high as a medic helicopter, ambulance, and emergency crew were brought in.”
“The Fosters have helped so many people, expecting nothing in return,” the page continued. This family can use all the support they can get and I know they will be forever grateful. Let’s rally together and help them overcome a growing financial burden during this tragic time.”
