Tiger Woods vomited twice on the golf course while fighting through an illness during the third round of the Hero World Challenge in Windermere, Florida, where he eventually finished tied for last on Sunday.

Though he managed to pull off his best 18-hole total of the tournament with a 3-under-par 69 on Saturday, the world's former No. 1 golfer was still well in back of the field at Isleworth in his first golf in four months while rehabbing from a back injury, according to ESPN.

According to USAToday, Woods vomited halfway into his practice session after walking slowly over to a row of bushes. He was sweating profusely throughout the round and became sick again on the third hole.

Jordan Spieth shot a 66 Sunday to beat the elite field of 18 players with a 26 under par, 10 strokes better than second place Henrik Stenson. But all eyes were on Woods, whose 72 Sunday tied him with Hunter Mahan for last place with at even par.

The golf tournament helps raise funds for the Tiger Woods Foundation, which was probably the reason Woods decided to gut it out despite battling a 102-degree fever that peaked on Friday, noted ESPN.

"It wasn't easy and I fought hard,'' Woods told reporters after Saturday's round, according to ESPN. "I wasn't doing too good at the beginning, but I thought I would be all right. It finally broke on the front nine.''

Woods missed the cut in the PGA Championship in his last outing, noted CNN. The golfer ended his four-year relationship with Sean Foley after he failed to win a major over that stretch and hired Chris Como as a new swing "consultant."

Woods has not won a major golf tournament since the 2008 U.S. Open, giving him 14 for his career, four short of the PGA record held by his idol Jack Nicklaus, reported The Golf Channel.

Spieth's margin of victory was the largest on the tour this season and broke the tournament record of seven strokes set by Woods in 2007.

''Whether my emotions showed it or not I'm not sure, but inside we were really very pleased with the year and how it came to a close,'' Spieth said. ''This caps off the best golfing year that I've ever had.''
