'The Sopranos' 'GTA': Iconic Show's NJ Intro Remade With Game Scenes

By    |   Tuesday, 15 July 2014 03:22 PM EDT

YouTube channel 8-Bit Bastard has recreated the opening credits of hit TV series "The Sopranos" using images from "Grand Theft Auto 5."

The channel previously made "GTA5" re-enactments for "Skyfall" and "The Godfather."

Instead of the New Jersey setting of “The Sopranos,” the re-enactment takes place in the fictional West Coast city the video game is set in.

Set to “The Sopranos” theme song “Woke Up This Morning,” the video replaces iconic East Coast images with West Coast alternatives.

In its YouTube description, 8-Bit Bastard said the recreation was “pretty time-consuming, but a lot of fun.” It was their first experience with using a green screen.

The video had been viewed about 193,000 times Tuesday afternoon.

Fans spread the news on Twitter.
