Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will join men in the #MeToo movement by dressing in all-black during the Golden Globes next month, People magazine reported.
Johnson, one of Hollywood's biggest box-office stars, confirmed on social media on the site of his stylist Ilaria Urbinati that he plans to join the silent protest by wearing all-black, stated the magazine.
Sources had previously told People that many Hollywood actresses were planning on dressing in black to protest against sexual harassment in the movie industry. The movement started this fall when disgraced movie producer Harvey Weinstein was fired from his company after a New York Times articles exposed years of sexual harassment and assault allegations.
That led to additional women and even some men coming out to tell their stories of sexual harassment and abuse, leading to the downfall of several stars and entertainment industry executives, ABC News reported.
"Because everyone keeps asking me… YES, the men WILL be standing in solidarity with women on this wearing-all-black movement to protest against gender inequality at this year's Golden Globes," wrote Urbinati on Twitter, who works with Johnson, Tom Hiddleston, Garrett Hedlund, and Armie Hammer.
Johnson commented on Urbinati's Instagram post with a simple "Yes, we will" per People. Many appeared to respond positively to Johnson's joining the silent protest at the Golden Globes.
