Sony has moved the release date for “The Amazing Spider-Man 3” from 2016 to 2018, and pushed “Sinister Six” into a slot on Nov. 11, 2016.
“So it does indeed look like we’re getting the spin-off before we get the traditional sequel,”
Forbes wrote of the Spider-Man schedule change.

“Sinister Six,” about the villains from the world of Spider-Man, is being directed by Drew Goddard. Forbes hypothesized that those villains may include Jamie Foxx’s Electro, Rhys Ifans’s Lizard, and Dane DeHaan’s Green Goblin, among others.
Taking some more time to put together "The Amazing Spider-Man 3" may not be a bad thing, Forbes writer Scott Mendelson noted, as it might give the company time to make sure revenue improves over "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." Although that film made money ($706 million on a $250 million budget), it was the lowest-grossing of the "Spider-Man" films.
As Sony shuffles its films, Marvel and Disney snagged the now-open date in May 2018 that originally held "Spider-Man 4." Although they aren’t saying what movie will release then,
The Hollywood Reporter guessed it would be a perfect date for an "Avengers 3" movie.
Just last week, Disney listed Marvel movie release dates as June 28, 2017; Nov. 3, 2017; July 6, 2018; Nov. 2, 2018; and May 3, 2019, the Reporter said. None of those movies have been titled yet.
