Celebrity photographer Terry Richardson has reportedly been banned from working with top magazines after years of sexual harassment allegations against him.
An email sent within media group Conde Nast International on Monday said the company would not work with Richardson anymore and that any existing work not yet published should be “killed or substituted with other material,” The Telegraph reported.
The group publishes magazines including Vogue, GQ, Glamour, Vanity Fair, and Wired.
Richardson's work is known in the industry as sexually explicit, The Telegraph noted. The photographer has been accused of sexually exploiting models for years but has always denied the allegations.
Conde Nast confirmed the email to Refinery 29 and gave a statement: “Conde Nast has nothing planned with Terry going forward. Sexual harassment of any kind is unacceptable and should not be tolerated.”
Allegations against Richardson were featured in the documentary “Picture Me” by former model Sara Ziff, and claims of harassment from five different women were featured in Jezebel magazine in 2014. New York Magazine also published accusations against Richardson along with an interview with Richardson denying them.
Refinery 29 noted Richardson has continued to shoot spreads for magazines including Harper’s Bazaar, CR Fashion Book, V, and Rolling Stone since the allegations were published.
Richardson has photographed some of the biggest stars in the music industry, including Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and Miley Cyrus, who had Richardson direct her controversial music video for "Wrecking Ball" in 2013, although she later regretted the shoot.
