Teen's Car Teeters Precariously on Bridge Railing After Accident

By    |   Monday, 23 March 2015 05:30 PM EDT

A picture of a teen's car as it teeters on the edge of bridge railing will no doubt make parents feel ill, but luckily the 17-year-old New Hampshire driver was OK and his car did not plunge into the Merrimack River below.

Colin Malone, of Nashua, New Hampshire, was driving a Honda Accord when he hit a snow embankment, which caused his car to go airborn and pop up on the railing of the Sagamore Bridge, the New Hampshire Trooper’s Association Facebook page reported.

Although Malone was cited for failing to keep his vehicle within roadway markings, the trooper investigating said no drugs or alcohol were suspected in the crash.

“He was out (of the car) by time responders arrived; he had self-extricated," Capt. Kevin Grebinar of the Hudson Fire Department told CNN.

It was a 75-foot drop to the river below.
