Ted Nugent has lashed out at "satanic" critics who reportedly said he should die of coronavirus.
Last week the rocker revealed that he had contracted COVID-19. Nugent has repeatedly downplayed the severity of the virus and dismissed the pandemic as fake so his announcement prompted many to mock his claims. Others, however, reportedly sent him letters saying they wished he and his family would die of the virus.
On Monday, Nugent called out the group of people, who he described as a "Satanic cult," in a Facebook Live video.
"Can you imagine anyone in your life putting forth any effort or energy to write a letter to someone saying, 'I hope you die.' That's what they've been doing to my family," he said, via Blabbermouth.net.
"The people who hate Ted Nugent, they're Satanic. They've literally written letters celebrating my Chinese virus and literally hoping that my children and my grandchildren die — in very obscene, vulgar, hateful, demonic terms," Nugent continued.
"Democrats. Devils. Satanic monsters. Soulless, drunk-on-hate evil people," he added, according to the U.K.’s Independent.
Nugent revealed that he had tested positive for COVID-19 last Monday in a Facebook Live broadcast. He recalled experiencing flu-like symptoms for several days before a doctor recommended he go for a test.
"I literally could hardly crawl out of bed the last few days, but I did, I crawled." he said, according to Mediaite. "So I was officially tested positive for Covid-19 today."
Nugent went on to suggest there is no point in being tested for coronavirus, and downplayed the need for social distancing, mask-wearing, and being vaccinated against the virus. He has attacked vaccines in the past and his latest comments show his stance has not changed despite his diagnosis.
"Nobody knows what’s in it," he said of the vaccines. "If you can’t even honestly answer our questions of exactly what’s in it and why are you testing it on human beings and forcing it on people in such a short period of time."
