Taylor Swift and Jimmy Fallon's Jumbotron dancing skit on "The Tonight Show" Tuesday proved to be a viral hit, with more than 340,000 views on YouTube in less than a day.
The top-selling singer, 25, was a guest on "The Tonight Show" when Fallon, 40, playfully talked about how dancing in front of Jumbotron cameras at New York City sporting arenas used to be their thing,
according to E! News.
"I'm kind of a little upset," said Fallon. "I'm a little upset because every time I see you dancing at events, and for a while, that was our thing a long time ago. We used to go all out. I'm sorry."
"I forgot about that being our exclusive thing," replied Swift.
"We were famous Jumbotron dancers," said Fallon, before going into the skit.
Swift later posted on Twitter that her portion of the skit with Fallon was done live, which was why she was out of breath at the end of it.
Megan Gibson of Time magazine wrote that the skit showed Swift didn't mind having a little fun at her own expense.
"During the singer's appearance, Fallon took the opportunity to poke fun at her fondness for dancing at live events," wrote Gibson. "He also mentioned that he missed the days when Swift would only dance with him on the Jumbotron at sporting events. What followed was a montage of the two dancing their way through games of all of New York’s major sports teams, including the Brooklyn Nets, New York Giants and New York Islanders. It's now all too clear where Swift gets her dance inspiration from."
Social media made a big deal of Grammy-winning "Happy" singer Pharrell Williams' reaction to Swift dancing next to him at the Grammy Awards on Feb. 8, where he appeared to frown at the pop singer waving her arms in the air to a song in her seat.
