Tamar Braxton was rushed to a hospital after police responded to a call about a possible overdose.
The musician and reality TV star, who is Toni Braxton's sister, was found "unresponsive" by her boyfriend, David Adefeso, while staying at the Ritz Carlton Residences in Downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday, according to The Blast.
Sources told the outlet that Adefeso contacted 911 and reported that Braxton had been drinking when she took an unknown amount of prescription pills. She was transported to a California hospital in L.A., where she is said to be recovering.
LAPD confirmed they had been alerted to a medical emergency involving a 43-year-old woman in a "possible overdose" at around 9.45 p.m. on Wednesday. Investigations are ongoing.
A statement released by a spokesperson for the Braxton family read: "Tamar has had a very tough and emotional day – more information will be coming in the next few days. Please pray for her."
Tamar has released four albums and has starred in the "Braxton Family Values" reality TV series with her famous family since 2011, New York Post reported. She co-hosted "The Real" for three years, until she was axed in 2016, then famously won the second season of CBS's "Celebrity Big Brother" in 2019.
She has a new reality docu-series, "Tamar Braxton: Get Ta Life"!" set to premiere on We TV soon.
