Sunday's Super Bowl LI earned ratings of 111.3 million viewers on Fox, making it the fourth most watched Super Bowl in history and the most watched broadcast ever on Fox.
Last year's Super Bowl 50 matchup saw 111.9 million viewers, but 2015’s game on NBC was the most watched Super Bowl and most watched television broadcast with 114.4 million viewers, according to Reuters.
By adding in the viewers from Fox Deportes (Fox's Spanish language network) and the nearly 2 million viewers who streamed the game on Fox Sports Go, however, the broadcast moved up to the second most watched Super Bowl with 113.7 million viewers, behind only the 2015 game.
As more and more viewers ditch cable altogether, streaming services are expected to continue to rise in viewership.
During Sunday's Super Bowl, the Atlanta Falcons jumped out to a big early lead, but the New England Patriots mounted an unprecedented comeback that led to an overtime win, 34-28.
The overtime play yielded four additional commercials that earned Fox an additional $20 million in revenue for a total of $509.6 million, Reuters reported.
