South Korean pop sensation Yohan died suddenly on Tuesday at age 28. The cause of death has not been revealed but his band's label, KJ Music Entertainment, confirmed the news and urged the public to refrain from speculating on how the K-Pop star passed away.

"The late Yohan's family is currently in deep mourning," the label said in a statement, per Daily Mail. "The family has pleaded that media articles about Yohan's passing, such as those making speculations about the cause of his death, be refrained out of respect."

Yohan, whose real name according to The Daily Mail was Kim Jeong-hwan, shot to fame in 2015, when he joined the band NOM, which disbanded in 2017. He then joined TST, who had released its fourth studio album, Countdown, at the start of the year and was promoting its latest single weeks before his death.

Upon news of Yohan's death, devastated fans flocked to his Instagram Page, posting tributes in his honor and expressing their condolences to his family.

"This is really heart breaking," one fan wrote in reply to the last photo Yohan shared to his page. "a really young soul left us too early :'(:'( condolence to his family friends and fans. rest in peace angel."

Another wrote: "Once upon a time, a young Korean artist called Yohan. He always had a good mood and the joy of living and he enjoyed life to achieve his dreams. You never fell, you are our guardian angel. An angel that we do not forget and that we will not forget. Wherever and whenever. Stay in peace and continue to be happy. You are happiness and happiness is you."

"Yohan, I’m so sorry. I hope you’re happy in heaven. I will always remember your smile. And someday when I look out at the stars, I’ll see you and I’ll know it’s you because there’s never a smile like yours. My condolences to his family and colleagues. Thank you for the smiles," a third fan added.

A wake for Yohan will be held at Severance Hospital in Sinchon. His body will then be moved to a cemetery in Yongin on June 18.
